KRUGER TOUR

This is the speciality of African Horizons and we offer several packages to this magnificent game park, including morning and afternoon hikes accompanied by a Game Ranger, breakfast and dinners in the bush, night drives for nocturnal sightings and daytime drives in an airconditioned vehicle and we also offer sundowner trips at no additional cost.

FOURWAYS LION PARK

Only one hour drive from Johannesburg or Pretoria where lion and many other African game can be viewed. The duration of the tour is 4 hours. Entrance fees and a photo with a lion cub are included in the price. Lunch at the Game Lodge is optional. You are accompanied by a registered driver/tour guide.

PILANESBERG TOUR

Only 2 hours drive from Johannesburg and 1,5 hours from Pretoria we find the magnificent Pilanesberg Game Reserve. Here you will find the Big 5 in the beautiful savanna fields and you can photograph these magnificent animals to your hearts delight. We will also treat you to a special African Bush Braai for lunch where after we will spend a few hours at Sun City where there is plenty to do and enjoy. On our way back, time permitting, we can stop at the African Market at Hartebeespoort dam.

ELEPHANT SANCTUARY

Enjoy the wonderful sensation of touching the African Elephant and experience their behaviour in nature. We combine this tour with a visit to the African Market at the Hartebeespoortdam.

DE WILDT CHEETAH PROJECT

Tours only on Tuesdays, Thursdays Saturdays and Sundays from 08h30 to 11h30 or from 13h30 to 16h30.

Enjoy a three and a half hour tour on an open safari vehicle experiencing this wonderful breeding project. Also look at Vultures and Wild dogs as well as taking action pictures of cheetah running.

SUNCITY TOUR

We depart at 07h30 to go and enjoy the “hustle and bustle” of this famous destination where you can enjoy theatre, gambling and numerous restaurants. There is also the “Valley of the Waves” where you can literally ride the waves of an ocean in the middle of the African Bush. For the golfing enthusiast there is the very famous and notorious Gary Player Golf Course that will certainly test your skills to the limit.

CRADLE OF MANKIND TOUR

This is a full day tour to the “valley of the ancestors” We will visit the intriguing Sterkfontein Caves dating back more than 2000 million years before we move on to the World Heritage Exhibition Centre where you can see a replica of the skull of Mrs. Pless whom it is believed to be the oldest remains of any human ever found in the world. Lunch at this beautiful location is optional.

DRAKENSBERG TOURS

This magnificent mountain range is by far the longest in the country, stretching from the South to North over almost the full length of the country, boasting deep valleys and peaks higher than 3000 m. Accomodation is available in the Southern, Centre and Northern areas consisting of luxury hotels, guest houses and self catering units as well as several camping sites. SOWETO TOUR

We visit the largest black township in the country where we visit places of interest such as the houses of Nelson Mandela and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. Next we will visit the Hector Peterson Memorial and drive by the largest hospital in the Southern Hemisphere, the Baragwanath Hospital. We also have lunch at the very famous Wandies Restaurant.

GAUTENG CIRCLE ROUTE

Lesedi Cultural Village

This is a half day tour. Experience the Zulu, Sotho, Xhosa and Ndebele cultures. Enjoy a live performance of singing and dancing as well as the African Theater, craft market and enjoy the taste of African cuisine at lunch or dinner. Advance bookings are essential and overnight accommodation is available.

GOLDREEF CITY

JOZI’S STORY OF GOLD

Come and experience this wonderful theme park with plenty of thrilling rides. A must to see will be the actual pouring of a gold bar after exploring a mineshaft more than 200 meters below the surface to relive the old mining days. There is also a wonderful museum to visit.
